EAST LABO Inc. ("we," "us," or "our") deeply respects the privacy of the customers who use "DANSTA" (the "App").
The App's core principle is that it does not transmit your photos or the images and videos you create to our servers or any third party, and completes all processing on your device (on-device).
This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled in the App.
The App crops a photo you choose into a "mask" and composites it onto a 3D character. All processing, including recording the dance, adding text, and exporting the GIF or video, is performed entirely on your device, and your photos and the images and videos you create are never transmitted or uploaded to our servers or any third party.
The App requests access to a photo you select in order to create the "mask" that is composited onto the character. Only the photo you choose is passed to the App; the App does not read your entire photo library. The photo accessed is used solely to create the mask image.
The portion you crop from a photo is saved as a mask image only on your device. The original photo itself is not copied or stored.
The App works by having you manually specify which part of a photo to use as a mask. It does not perform automatic face detection or facial recognition that identifies individuals. We also never transmit your photos or mask images to our servers or any third party.
The App does not require account registration. We do not collect the following information:

All of this data is erased when you delete (uninstall) the App from your device. You can also delete created masks (by long-pressing the thumbnail) or delete saved dances from within the App.
Exported GIFs and videos are passed to your device's photo library or to other apps only when you choose to "Save" or "Share," by your own action. Their handling at the destination is governed by the terms of each destination service.
To offer the App for free, we use Google AdMob to display advertisements (interstitial ads). To deliver ads, manage how often they are shown, and prevent fraud, AdMob (Google) may obtain device and usage information such as advertising identifiers, IP address (including an approximate region derived from it), and information about ad impressions and interactions.
The App requests non-personalized ads only and does not track you across apps for advertising purposes. It does not present the iOS "App Tracking Transparency" prompt.
Your photos, mask images, and the videos you create are never provided to the advertising provider. They are stored only on your device and are not transmitted externally.

The App is distributed through app stores such as the App Store and Google Play. The App also offers a one-time in-app purchase to remove ads. Purchases and purchase restoration are processed through the respective app store, and we do not obtain or store your payment information (such as credit card numbers). The handling of information associated with the use of an app store is governed by the privacy policy of each app store operator.
To deliver minor fixes and improvements without going through an app store update, the App uses EAS Update, an update delivery service provided by Expo, Inc. When the App launches, it contacts Expo's servers to check for updates, sending the information needed to determine and deliver the applicable update (such as the app and update versions, the OS type, and a random per-install identifier generated for update checks), along with the IP address inherent to the communication.
This communication never includes your photos, mask images, videos you create, or personally identifiable information. For how Expo handles data, please see the Expo Privacy Policy.
Because the App does not store personal information on servers, we hold no information subject to disclosure or correction. You can delete the data on your device yourself at any time, using the in-app deletion features or by uninstalling the App.
The App is designed not to collect personally identifiable information. If a child uses the App, please ensure that they do so under the supervision of a parent or guardian.
We may change this Privacy Policy without prior notice. The revised Privacy Policy takes effect when it is posted on this page.
This Privacy Policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan. Any dispute relating to the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Kobe District Court as the court of first instance.
